A Total Care Interview:
We want to know you and your expectations very well, so we can serve your needs more efficiently. Therefore, at your first appointment, our clinical assistant will review with you, your medical and past dental history, your expectations and goals with your overall dental health. This helps us in providing an amazing dental experience to our patients.
A Comprehensive Oral Examination
Your Family Dentist- Dr. Jaiswal will perform a comprehensive exam which includes a thorough evaluation of the head and neck area with emphasis on teeth, gums and surrounding structures and jaw movements with evaluation of the bite. We want to make sure your teeth and gums stay healthy.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dr. Jaiswal will also do a thorough evaluation of your mouth for any lumps, bumps, sores or suspicious looking areas on the cheeks and gums. If we notice any areas, that could indicate the presence of oral cancer, we may recommend further testing with a specialist as needed.
Digital X-rays
We will take digital minimal radiation C-rays as and when needed to evaluate teeth and bone surrounding teeth which, allow us to identify even beginning signs of dental decay and gum disease and areas of infection if present.
Intraoral Pictures
We believe in total transparency when it comes to your dental health. Using a high definition intra-oral camera, we take pictures of teeth, gums and surrounding areas to show you exactly how your oral health appears, no surprises, no more guessing.
Healthy Mouth Cleaning
At your first visit, you will also you will receive a healthy mouth cleaning (dental prophylaxis) if you have healthy gums with no signs of gum disease. A routine cleaning includes the removal of plaque and tartar deposits and stains from above the gum line. After the cleaning, teeth surfaces are polished with a fluoride containing paste to smooth out any uneven surfaces. The cleaning helps remove plaque and tartar build up and keep your gums and teeth healthy and reduces the risk of having cavities and other dental problems.
Fluoride
Fluoride in the form of a gel is applied after your cleaning to help increase minerals on your teeth which prevent decay and make your teeth stronger.
