Reasons a Bridge May Be Needed

- Single or several missing teeth
- Inadequate bone to replace missing space with an Implant
- Fractured or decayed teeth around missing
The Process

The process for building and placing a bridge is like that of a crown and usually requires two to three appointments.
In the first appointment, the teeth around the missing space are reduced or shaped all around to include defects and weak areas and remove the decayed portion. A filling is then placed to build up tooth structure for sufficient retention of the crown. An impression or custom mold is then made, and the tooth is fitted with a temporary tooth. The temporary bridge is placed which helps to heal the gums around the tooth and prevents fracture of the tooth. The impression is sent to a lab and a final bridge is made on it.
During the second appointment, usually two weeks later, the temporary bridge is removed and the new final bridge is tried on, all contacts and the bite is verified, and the color is verified if everything fits well the bridge is cemented permanently. If adjustments are needed, the temporary bridge will be placed again a third appointment will be scheduled for the permanent bridge to be placed.
We use the highest-grade materials for bridges in our office. A tooth-colored bridge, also known as Zirconia or Bruxzir, is used which has highest strength and esthetics thereby improving function and esthetics at the same time. We pride ourselves in the quality of care we provide and have a warranty on our bridges for three years following placement, provided our patients maintain their preventative appointments which helps us evaluate concerns before they become major problems- another added benefit or our care for our dental family.
